Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) security
The IT committee had a brief discussion on mobile devices. This article is relevant to that discussion and we thought it might be a good idea to share it with staff:
Mobile Devices Present a Significant Risk for GDPR Noncompliance
This link should be considered with a view toward who owns the mobile device. At present, the owner of the device is the one responsibly for security, breaches and legal compliance. This is an entirely separate issue from who is “using” the device.
In addition, CourseVector tracks the latest in security “regulations.” The world is waiting to see how the GDPR fairs enforcing their policies which go into effect May 2018, but the following site on the CourseVector blog is updated periodically as rules and regulations change.
