No parent should ever have to feel the pain of losing a child. Unfortunately, it is a reality that many parents face. But, they do not have to experience grief alone. Dance With Todd’s new website highlights one woman’s journey through the loss of her son. She created the site in partnership with CourseVector as a place where grieving parents can gather and remember their children together.
Sherri Sengsouvanna lost her 12-year-old son, Todd, more than 20 years ago. His death was sudden and unexpected. In the days, weeks, and months following, she did not think she could be happy again. She has since found peace and encourages anyone else who has lost a loved one, especially a child, through her website Dance With Todd. On this site, she provides a place for those struggling with grief to rest for a moment, share a picture in memory of their child or just watch her dance with Todd.
Sengsouvanna explains of her site “Whatever you feel compelled to do is perfect for your journey through grief and we just want you to know that you are loved and supported here.”
She partnered with CourseVector to redesign her website. The original site was simply old and outdated. She wanted the site to feel fresh, to let people know that she’s still an active participant in her dance with Todd and that all are still welcome and safe in this space. CourseVector kept the elements most important to the original Dance with Todd website, implementing a few modern touches, such as the full-screen design and larger text size. WordPress is the perfect platform for the Dance with Todd community. It allows Sengsouvanna the freedom to post on her death of a child blog regularly and share and connect with others grieving the loss of a loved one. Her blog offers a wealth of information for grieving parents and others who are grieving.
