What to do if your email has been compromised
- Change your email password immediately. Sometimes, this will mean also changing other account passwords if they share a password.
- Log out of email on all devices. You’ll need to log back in with your new password.
- Set up multi-factor authentication where you can. While this can be a pain, it does add a layer of security to each of your accounts.
- Notify your email list that you’ve been compromised.
- Set up a schedule to review and change passwords and security questions.
- Scan your computer for malware and viruses.
