Cyber security should be more than just a mandate within an organization. Here are 5 way to help make cyber security a culture within your organization.
Security-minded Leadership – When leadership is security-minded, staff is more likely to be security minded as well. Leadership should meet regularly to stay on top of the best security practices and policy.
Promote Professional Training – All staff should be encouraged to learn about cyber security, not just the IT staff. Staff should be encouraged to engage in appropriate continuing education programs, including those regarding cyber security and IT related topics.
Brand Security Reputation – Your organization’s security practices should not stop as a slogan. Each person in each department should work together to ensure the company’s security practices are met each day.
Annual Company Training – Annual security training is essential to ensure that all staff is aware of company policy. Training should not be the extent of security though. Security should be practiced 24 / 7 / 365.
