Cyber Security Awareness Poster

Working in public can be a welcomed change of scenery or a necessary evil at times. However, it can also be dangerous. Here are three tips to avoid falling victim to the pitfalls of working in public:
- Don’t use public WiFi if you can avoid it. Instead, use a Virtual Private Network (VPN). It’s too easy for bad actors to steal information on open WiFi networks.
- Don’t use shared equipment when working in a shared workspace. It can be easy to leave sensitive documents behind on shared equipment. Instead, BYOD – bring your own device.
- Beware of prying eyes. This is especially important if you’re doing any type of sensitive work with PII or other private information. Be aware of your surroundings and who can see your screen.
As always, keep malware protection installed and up to date on any device you use for work. There are also versions of this software for use at home. Malwarebytes is a good option, but there are others that will do the trick as long as you keep them updated.
